Нордгоф (Charles Nordhoff) — североамериканский журналист. род. в 1830 г. в Вестфалии. ребенком переехал в Америку. служил во флоте. Из его произведений известны: "Man of-war life", "The merchant wessel", "Whaling and fishing", "Nine years a sailor", "Cape Cod and all along shore" (1868), "Cal i fornia for health, pleasure and residence" (1873. 3-е изд., 1887), "Politics for young Americans" (1875), "The communistic societies of the United States" (1875), "Stories of the island world" (1881), "God and the future life" (1883).
